Read the following story. (print out or read on your phone or tablet)

Andy the Astronaut and the Alien Surprise

Then use pipe cleaners to create capital letter A’s. Help the child to bend the pipe cleaner into the shape of a capital a. (Cut shorter pieces for the cross bar)

Then, using the pipe cleaners, create antennae for yourself and your child. Attach the antennae to a hat or make a headband out of the extra pipe cleaners.

Now walk around the house or neighborhood with your “Letter A Antennae” pretending to be exploring an Alien planet, finding things that start with the letter A.
